• Choose the selection criteria and weigh them up.
• Stages of public procurement:
• open, restricted, or international invitations to tender and other procurement procedures.
• preparing the terms of reference.
• standard documents for services, supply and works contracts.

Day Three
• technical specifications for works contracts.
• receiving, analysing, and evaluating tenders.
• notifying, negotiating, and awarding the contract.
• beginning the works or provision of services.

Day Four
• Administrative documents (special conditions, general tender conditions, general administrative terms, and conditions, etc.).
• Respective contractual obligations of the owner; of the prime contractor; of the contract holder.
• Performance guarantees (bonds, insurance, civil liability).
• Setting up monitoring and supervision structures.

Day Five
• Engineer's role for works contracts.
• Contractual procedures to evaluate works or services.
• Provisional and final acceptance of works: types of acceptance, acceptance conditions, effects of the acceptance.
• Analysing and handling claims.
